The “Amarillos” are inspectors designated by the government to help people getting rides. They stop all state-owned cars and trucks so whoever is going in their direction can get a ride.
This is one of the main problems in Cuba: how to get from one place to another, which sometimes is incredibly frustrating. The economic situation – due to mismanagement of the government – is getting worse these days. The people will have to keep on suffering and surviving, victims of a system that do not allow free enterprise.
